Beyond Human Knowledge

Proof Three

The Qur'an was not taken from a teacher.

It is a unique revelation, not a compilation of existing knowledge or traditions!

The Qur'an is not a product of human authorship or influence from any existing sources, whether from within Arabian Society, or from Jewish and Christian Traditions, or from Arab poetry. Let's break down the...

Key Points:

  1. A Time of Ignorance:
  • Widespread ignorance existed amongst the people whom Prophet Muhammed peace and blessings be upon him lived. Meaning the prophet's contemporaries in Mecca were not knowledgeable enough to act as teachers or have contributed to the teachings found in the Qur'an.
  • Let us suppose hypothetically, knowledgeable individuals existed...enough to teach prophet Muhammed the sophistication and supernatural content of the Qur'an. Why didn't others learn from them? Why didn't others gain the same insights or knowledge that Muhammed did? Instead of learning and embracing the teachings, many of these individual opposed the prophet, even going as far as raging war and battling with swords against him.
  • All the above suggests that the knowledge contained in the Qur'an was unique to the prophet Muhammed and not derived from local sources!

2. The Qur'an was Not Derived from Jewish or Christian Sources

  • People love to utter this one. That somehow the Qur'an is a replication from other religions. Let's put it simply. If the Qur'an was derived from Jewish or Christian sources why does it contain so many criticisms of the beliefs and practices of Jews and Christians depicting some of their teachings as ignorance or superstition? If the Qur'an was copying Judo-Christian books it would not criticise them in such a manner. Right?
  • The Qur'an contains unique content not found in Jewish or Christian scriptures, such as the stories of the prophets Hud and Shu'aib peace be upon them. If the Qur'an were copied from these traditions, it would not have unique content that is absent from them.
